Author and Diver Larry Skahill
An award winning author, Professional Life Coach and exciting speaker, Larry Skahill was living his life-long dream of a career on the leading edge of the high-tech world, managing the Vandenberg AFB Weather Station operations and maintenance crews. For sport, he spearfished in the beautiful waters off the Central Coast of California. While diving in the safety of a swim area, his life would be endangered and forever changed by a careless boater.
Instead of receiving the promotion of a lifetime, the accident left Larry permanently disabled. Relying on his deep faith in God and his own destiny, Larry courageously fought back to build a new life. He returned to his love of the ocean where he taught over thirty other individuals to free-dive and spearfish.
He studied with the American Association of Christian Counselors as well as the International Coach Federation – the oldest and highest standards organization in the emerging field of Coaching.
Larry’s coached at many levels, from individuals whose own lives have been seriously disrupted, to organizational executives and leaders of international Aerospace firms. He developed Life Coaching tools, programs and curriculum for both individuals and organizations. He specializes in partnering with others to discover and achieve their missions in life.
Larry’s third book, Propel Beyond Fear: Dive into Life (due out fall of 2013), combines his love of free diving with coaching using a variety of adventurous dive stories to coach readers to a life well lived.
